Manager, People Excellence


Advance the multidimensional People Excellence strategy enabling businesses to grow, attract and retain top talent and enhance leadership capabilities within the evolving energy and infrastructure landscape.


Be a high impact Business Partner leader who builds teams, enriches employee experience and organizational capability. Provide advice and deliver human resources solutions to ensure the achievement of business objectives; lead, change within a transformational environment and evolving business model.


Highly skilled in Employee Relations, working with multiple collective agreements, across a broad range of human resources matters and functions with a pragmatic, collaborative, and engaging mindset. Is a human resources services provider responsible for partnering with the business to provide sound counsel and guidance.


Develops and implements talent management and employee experience programs designed to build and accelerate organizational effectiveness within a fast paced, dynamic environment. Leadership style will be characterized by being: · A coach who can develop an effective team capable of delivering exceptional service and results ·


A compelling communicator that motivates and empowers · A collaborator and builder of strong, credible business relationships with teams, peers, and senior leaders · Be innovative through continuous improvement, automation and streamline processes to improve delivery quality and time · Agile, responsive and has a sense of urgency in an ever- changing environment · An ability to operate at all levels between strategic leadership and hands-on as circumstances require · An advocate in the community and industry.


NOTE: This role is based in St Catharines however is responsible for 3 sites(Hamilton and Etobicoke) and would be required to visit these sites on a regular basis.


ACCOUNTABILITIES · Demonstrate service excellence through effective and timely resolution of matters - making HR 'easy to do business with' · Works closely with business leaders and acts as a trusted partner across all HR functions, with a focus on employee relations, talent management and employee experience · Provides leadership with a ‘One Team’ mindset, coaching and identify development opportunities to build strong human resources expertise · Consult and provide human resources solutions to support business priorities and the achievement of results · Build strong and productive relationships with management and union representatives · Develop and deliver leadership contribute to the talent management strategy aligned with business requirements for attraction and retention and understand cost implications · Understand total compensation approach and pay application for unionized employees · Act as a resource to managers for employee and labour relations issues, interpreting and providing advice on HR policies, procedures, collective agreements and employment legislation · Manage labour negotiations and grievances · Manage a team by coaching, mentoring and providing development opportunities that build skills and capacity

SCOPE Reports to: Director, People Excellence and Employee Experience Direct Reports: Human Resources Business Partner and Coordinator


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS · University degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Labour Relations or related discipline or related work experience · HR Certification

· 8-10 or years of progressive generalist HR experience · Previous HR leadership role with people management responsibilities · Experience working with multiple business units · Experience working in shared services environment · Labour relations experience managing multiple unions and union relationships
